I purchased this kit for my 6 year old, as purchasing all of these items individually would be ridiculously expensive. Everything that is listed in the description was in the box and my daughter simply LOVED the surprise box everything came in. The best part is that everything is just of such high quality, everything appears very durable, which is important when the primary user is 6. I would highly recommend this product to everyone!! And the signed card in the box from the company owner was just such a lovely, heartwarming surprise! Thank you EvoRetro:-

Got mine for a $299 deal, I would not buy at the original $499 price because the itemized list does not add up to $499, you’d actually save money buying separate.
I got this for my partner to play animal crossing but I have spent a fair amount of hours also playing some games and browsing the eshop for games that interested me. I can’t help but be completely disappointed to see that nintindo is asking basically the same price as the PlayStation 4 console and games. Which would be fine if they brought the same space or 4k quality or content but a lot of nintindos games feel like games I could download to my phone. Then it looks like nintindo games hardly depreciate as well so they stay pretty close to that ridiculous asking price. A lot of the games on the eshop can be bought on another system or PC and will be much better played on anything but the switch. I’ve only gotten the chance to play 2 Switch Exclusive games and so far they are my least favorite. I don’t feel that the controllers are fully utilized, the games don’t really bring anything all that new or exciting, and despite paying $299 for a system and $59 for a game I am experiencing limitations. Animal Crossing New Horizon, for example, only lets you have one island that you share with all users on the switch. That means you have to share resources and put up with other people’s …creative… placements haha. I don’t mind this with my partner but I couldn’t imagine sharing with siblings or anyone you can’t choose to be with so keep this in mind if you plan on sharing your system (not every game is like this). Lasty, I also think the joycon controllers are made pretty cheap but are more expensive than even the PS5 controller which is probably the best controller on the market in terms of feel, materials, and ability to add immersion. I take care of my stuff and I can hear clicking in the left anolog stick after only a week.
All that being said, it’s really not a bad system it’s just not worth the asking price for the console or the games. It’s a great system to have when I have friends come over (back when the pandemic wasn’t a thing) because there are a lot of easy multiplayer games that everyone can play. And it works perfectly for my partner who has less experience with games and she absolutely loves playing Animal Crossing and The Last Campfire.
If you care about a budget and price for quality go with another system. If you don’t care and you love nintindo games then you’re going to love it regardless. If you’re buying as a gift, make sure this is their #1 choice of a system. Good luck, all and Happy Holidays!
